The Wozzapedia

Wozza has been crunching the numbers and compiling statistics. His Wozzapedia computer has been working overtime. The link below contains the outcome of his tireless work. Arthur Anderson have already been commissioned to undertake the post season audit.

We certainly performed better in F Grade

All creatures great and small

We welcome Stuart and Carrie (plus their dogs) to the Hooiyouooos.

In the olden days...

Glenn found these up in his attic. He's not changed a bit the past 37 years.

Of note in these pictures:
 - Great to see Euge with a smile again.
 - A 20 year old Slippery Bill in his pre-rowing days
 - The sleazy Dirk Diggler QC (top photo, top row right)

Glenn also found QC's "lost" protector whilst foreaging through the glory box

 NEWS FLASH

In breaking news....a rare photo of TonePitch has also recently been leaked from WikiLeaks. This was when he was moonlighting in the adult film industry as "The Italian Stallion"

El Capitaaaaan wins Gold

In between playing softball and shopping, the cunning and wiley Billy row row rowed his dry docked boat to a gold medal at the Pan Pac Masters on the Gold Coast.

A superstar of the indoor rowing fraternity.

A recurring theme.....

Another visit to our nemesis diamond, another turning point mid way through, another troubled bald headed clown and another loss.

Some things just don't change from season to season.
Unless you're QC and you show up with supplies of dried out donkey dick chips for after game nibbles.
Just what Pete needed to bung up after a pre-game bout of the trots.

Thought for the day

Consistency rather than accuracy should be the most important characteristic of a well-judged strike zone.

Yesterday, TonePitch, Myles and Scotty threw over 50 uncalled strikes (based on what a normal strike zone is). Thats OK if there was consistency all game for both teams. Funny how the strike zone in the bottom of the last innings mysteriously moved 2 foot off the plate for the opposition pitcher. Two K's later and it was all over red rover for our 5 run last gasp chase.

This was the one that got away.....

Old heads, fresh legs....the song remains the same - Summer 2010-2011

Hooiyouooo Report No.4 – 17 October 2010

One of QC's favourite lyrics is from Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite on Sergeant Peppers:

“…Over men and horses, hoops and garters
Lastly through a hogshead of real fire …”

John Lennon must have foreseen our game against North Ryde in a psychedelic vision. They are a team which is confusing, irritating and yet quaintly appealing – just like Kristina Keneally’s accent! Basically, they’re not a bad bunch – pretty ordinary – but they have a couple of knobs who sparked the odd firework (read ‘Kiwi’).

There was Knob 1: ‘The Bearded Clam. He looked like Mick Fleetwood on the cover of the Rumours album. Now here was a goat who thought he was a thoroughbred – you know the type: the prancing hack who stamps his feet as base runner or neighs from the dugout, just as you are about to pitch. Big hitter...pity he picked out Lawsy for the catch of the season in left field.

Then there was Knob 2: the catcher who abused QC for pulling an ugly face as he ran home. Knob 2 – QC is ugly, especially when his 57 year old legs are running home. [No complaints though – QC now gets to wear the pink belt next game!].

To complete the carousel, we had the Philly (filly?), probably commissioned by NR, doing her intoxicating laps around the park to distract us. North Ryde – it worked!!

This was a game that went from valium to speed. It was the only game we’ve played in which 2 players have got out twice in the same innings (obviously, separate innings). But the two players, Wozza (a man-of-the match performer) and the New (almost-top-catch and great 2 RBI hit) Philthy, played starring roles.

Troops, we won convincingly and are now sitting in equal 2nd spot on the ladder. We all played well at some time or another – you could almost say we’re on fire: just as Lennon’s song predicted.

RIP John and Euge

Winter 2010 - slim pickings - no finals

A couple of the Hooiyouooo's played Winter 2010. We have a good break now before summer starts.

Lawsy finally purchased a new bat

What were the Hyooondai's doing our in grade again?

Tonepitch failed to hit the ball in the final game of the season - the Hyooondai's had shown up with a new pitcher we hadn't faced in the previous 2 games earlier in the season...curveballs, sliders, fastballs, forkballs, knuckleballs, spitballs and bambulzalballs...

Pete made a return to the team...he's ready for summer!

The Finals 2008 - 2009 (a brief appearance)

Euge never did like George Kendall...

The only google reference to this place is the numerous mosquito and virus studies that have been conducted by the authorities over the years.
